Maidstone Triples League - Knock Out Competition Rules
Stewart Smith - Knock Out Trophy
-
All matches to be played under the laws of the I.B.B, and bowls must bear the I.B.B. or B.I.B.C. stamp.
-
Teams shall consist of two triples from the Maidstone Triples League, the personnel of which must be selected from members who have:
-
Not represented any other club within the Triples League during the current season.
-
Not represented any other team within their own club in the Knockout competition during the current season.
-
Teams wishing to enter the knockout competition shall inform the Secretary before the 15th of March so that the competition draw can be made before the April meeting.
-
Matches shall be played on a Home and Away basis, i.e., one triple at home and one away, playing at the same time. The result shall be based on the aggregate scores, and an extra end must be played on the challenger’s green, the score of this additional end to be only used in the event of a tie resulting after eighteen ends. Where two teams using the same green are drawn to play each other, the challenging team shall indicate, before the match commences, which of the team’s two triples shall play the extra end. The first named team on the draw sheet shall be deemed the challenger who shall make contact with their opposition within 72 hours of receiving the official match card from the Secretary, to make arrangements for the match to be played. If the challenger fails to contact their opponents within that time it is then the responsibility of both teams to make contact to arrange the game, but if both teams fail to make contact, then both will be eliminated from the competition. The League Secretary will make the final decision on this matter after making the relevant enquiries.
-
Matches to commence by 6.00 pm. Any triple failing to appear and play after a maximum waiting period of thirty minutes shall forfeit the complete match to their opponents.
-
In the event of adverse weather conditions, where either one or both triples cannot be completed, then the affected triple/triples should be completed as soon as possible as a resumed game as per the Laws of the Game.
-
In early rounds dress shall be expected to be grey trousers with white above the waist or Club coloured shirts, if registered by the Kent County Bowling Association. It will be a condition that all players in the team wear the coloured shirts, or none at all. In the semi final and final, players shall wear Grey or White Trousers, to be decided annually by the Committee, and shirts as previously described.
-
The Maidstone Triples League Rules Sub-Committee shall be the sole authority for the interpretation of these rules and their decision on any dispute shall be final.
John Francis - Singles Competition
-
The John Francis Singles knock out competition will be between a nominated player from each Club who has not represented any other Club in the Triples League during the current season.
-
The first drawn player will be deemed the challenger who will make contact with their opponent within 72 hours of receiving the official match card to make arrangements for the game to be played.
